WEEK4 FYP2
Activity : Components Changes.
- SMPS AC 230V-5V were not available in the market. It will be replace by Input AC100-240V 50/60Hz output DC 5V 2A.
- SMPS is known as Switched Mode Power Supply is a type of power supply unit (PSU) that will converts the unregulated AC or DC voltage into a regulated DC using switching devices. The major functions of SMPS is
- To turn on equipment, it works to supply power from source to load.
- To converts a wall-voltage AC power to lower voltage DC power
- Different components inside the project require different amounts of voltage or power use. SMPS provides power to each part as per its requirement.
- Its biggest advantages is that SMPS can give stable current to all electronic devices as per their requirement. So that there should not be any defect in the project.
- AC100-240V 50/60Hz output DC 5V 2A.
- AC/DC adapter have a similar functions and output can be use in the project.
AC adapters typically feature a boxy central unit containing power-switching circuitry. This draws AC power from the mains and converts it into DC at the voltage required by the device. A power cord then feeds this power from the adapter to the device to charge its battery or allow it to run. Like most electrical devices, AC adapters are built for compatibility with different levels of power, typically expressed in Volts. They also feature a variety of plugs for use with different socket designs.
- Wifi Module ESP8266-12E to NodeMCU ESP8266 V3.
- Current version of the NodeMCU have many advantages to make the project more easier to be successful. For the new version, programming block in the block diagram doesn’t require anymore since
Node MCU can program direct connect to the UARTS .
- Nodemcu is used in this project as a main brain for the system. It controls the whole process of the system. The Nodemcu is a platform to Internet of Things projects. It is an open source. The nodemcu is includes the firmware which is built-in WIFI EP8266 so it can be connected to internet network. The Nodemcu is provided with the sets of analog and digital input and output. It contains 14 digital ports and only 1 analog ports. The input power is connected to USB port by USB cable. The Nodemcu can be programmed by the computer software which is Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) through a type-B USB cable.
Conclusions:
The reasons changing of the components is the availability of the product at the market. Major changes will be made at the block diagram and circuit diagram after finish studying the new components.
